Addressing the significant issue of plastic waste, we collect and recycle all types of plastics, collaborating with Vintz Plastics Limited. Through this partnership, plastics are recycled into water tanks, basins, and other products, contributing to the reduction of plastic pollution and the promotion of a circular economy.
MRF (Material Recovery Facility).
With the increasing Population within Nairobi City, we anticipate that solid waste generation will concurrently increase thereby calling for a proactive approach to Solid Waste Management. Junky Bins has set up the MRF Centre to be located within the outskirts of Nairobi. With the help of improved technology, we have manage to recover valuable items and hence recycling. Via this approach we will prevent the crude dumping of waste which causes environmental degradation, air pollution, water pollution and adverse health effects. This will impact positively on the environment
Bin Liners Proposal
We propose the following; For the purpose of maximizing the quality of recyclables, using colored bin liners will work perfectly. We propose the use of Yellow Bags for Organic Waste and Black Bags for non-organic waste (dry waste).
1. BLACK SOLDIER FLY (BSF) PROJECT
Solid Waste is one of the most and immediate serious environmental
problem.
Recycling organic waste material (bio-waste) is still fairly
limited. We us Junky Bins
started a unique project in recycling the organic waste. The Black
Soldier Fly deals
with organic waste that we collect daily from households, hotels and
institutions. It
describes approach of bio-waste conversion by insect larvae, using
the Black Soldier
Fly (BSF). This idea links to the promising opportunities of using
the harvested BSF
larvae as a source of protein for poultry, Pig and Fish feeds. From
the residue we
produce Organic Manure and Organic Fertilizer. The Black Soldier Fly
(BSF) Project is
a sustainable and cheap alternative protein source for animal feeds
in Kenya.
With our project we convert organic waste to provide animal feeds
for (Poultry, fish
and Pigs) thus easing the pressure in the dumpsites where large
organic wastes are
disposed. The organic waste will simply be used to feed the larvae
instead of
disposing them directly.
The main objective of the project are to;
2. Non Organic Waste Recycling
In managing inorganic waste, we employ a systematic approach that prioritizes efficient sorting and recycling of various materials. Through meticulous sorting procedures, we ensure the proper segregation of waste into distinct categories, facilitating their appropriate processing. This methodical approach not only enhances the effectiveness of waste management but also contributes significantly to sustainable resource utilization and environmental conservation efforts.
We customized waste pickup programs for the following;
Collaborating with the WEEE Center (WC), we handle electronic waste (E-waste) with care, ensuring responsible disposal and resource recovery through processing and repackaging for reuse.
Partnering with Kamongo Waste Paper, we facilitate the recycling of cartons and waste paper, contributing to the reduction of paper waste and the promotion of recycling practices.
Even materials deemed non-recyclable, such as masks, diapers, and pads, are managed responsibly. Partnering with specialized companies, we convert these items into alternative resources such as fuel, reducing their environmental impact.
